Keeping it Pretty

Keeping it Pretty between Waxes

Waxing is a great option, especially at a relatively low cost compared to alternative treatments. However, when it comes to waxing your lady parts, you want the smoothest appearance as long as possible. And I believe a Brazilian wax is the ultimate smooth operation.

I've been waxing for almost twenty years now. And, let me tell you, just like with anything else, if you stay consistent (not just in the summer or when you travel), the waxes get better and last longer with each treatment. And, no one has ever said, "I don't want it to stay smoother, longer." Luckily for you, I'm sharing what I know to be accurate and effective to help you get the most out of your waxing, ultimately saving you money in the long run. Once you're waxed, here are a few tips to help maximize your in-between treatment sessions and keep your kitty pretty.

Exfoliating in between treatments is the most effective to maximize your wax treatment before and after. Regular exfoliation with a gentle scrub or loofah and a hydrating lotion to prevent dry skin are essential. Sugar scrubs are typically recommended to avoid ingrown hairs and pimples. However, you may not need a sugar scrub unless you naturally and regularly experience ingrown hairs. Alternatively, you can use a dry soft exfoliant brush. The bristles of this brush should be more delicate than the exfoliant brush you use for your back or daily bathing. Exfoliating not only sheds dead skin cells but also makes the hair point up, prompting it to grow in the right direction.

Refraining from shaving is effective for preserving and maintaining your wax treatment. Applying a couple of drops of fur oil post-wax will help alleviate ingrown hairs. You can also use the same amount of drops regularly in between your session, immediately after exfoliating with your brush or sugar scrub.

If you must remove hairs, tweeze or trim. Shaving allows pubic hairs to grow in random directions and potentially become ingrown. Should you need to tweeze, pull the hair out in the direction from which it is growing out. Alternatively, if you elect to use scissors, do so carefully.

Moisturizing is essential. Immediately following your at-home exfoliation, apply some hydration to your nether region. Sustaining soft skin makes for a smoother appointment making it easier to rid the hair from the root during extraction rather than potentially breaking off, which occurs when the skin is rough, dry, and brittle. When hair breaks off, regrowth appears to happen faster.

Most importantly, keep waxing! Regular waxing over time eventually damages the hair follicle. This means that the more you wax, the lighter, finer, and softer your hair becomes over time. Ultimately resulting in less hair growth. In the end, you'll have stubble-free, smoother skin for longer. And, you'll soon be saying, So long, razor!
